Each year, supporters come together to raise money for Operation First Response, a nonprofit organization which helps wounded military members and their families with a wide array of emotional and financial support offerings.
The three-mile walk along the Ocean City boardwalk, sponsored by OceanFirst Bank, provides a way to show support for our wounded heroes and to help raise money to enable Operation First Response to continue its worthwhile mission of helping those who serve and protect us.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., with the ceremony taking place at 9:30 a.m. in front of the Music Pier. The walk will start at 10 a.m. and participants will enjoy walking the boardwalk for this wonderful cause. In addition to the ceremony and walking portion, live entertainment will be provided by The Big Zebowski, from 8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
Those who raise $50 or more will receive a commemorative Walk for the Wounded long-sleeve t-shirt. Kids who raise $10 or more will receive a ride wristband for Gillian’s Wonderland Pier later that day, from 1–5 p.m.
Having taken part in this extraordinary fundraiser last year, I can tell you that it’s one you certainly won’t want to miss! Find more details online via the Walk for the Wounded webpage.
