The holiday season is upon us and in addition to many opportunities to take part in fun and festive events, there are also a wide array of ways to lend a hand to those in need. Many local Ocean City and mainland shops, restaurants and organizations are finding ways to give back to the community and requesting help from residents and visitors in this wonderful quest for charitable giving.
Here are some ways in which you can lend a hand this holiday season and make someone’s day a little brighter:
Thanksgiving Food Drive at Omega High-Impact Print Solutions in Egg Harbor Township to Benefit the Community Food Bank of New Jersey-Southern Branch and the Humane Society of Ocean City (Through Nov. 21)
Omega High-Impact Print Solutions, located at 6726 Delilah Road in Egg Harbor Township, is holding a Thanksgiving Food Drive to acquire food donations for the Community Food Bank of New Jersey – Southern Branch to help local families in need and food and pet product donations for the furry residents of the Humane Society of Ocean City. The list of items needed can be found on the Omega High-Impact Print Solutions Instagram page and the donation drive runs through November 21.
For those who wish to support the Humane Society of Ocean City even more, grab your tickets today for the Silver Paws Holiday Fur Ball at the Flanders Hotel on Saturday, December 1, from 6–10 p.m., and take part in the Fast and Furriest Turkey Trot along the Ocean City boardwalk on Thursday, November 22, from 8–11 a.m. All proceeds raised from both events will go directly to benefit the Humane Society of Ocean City.
Coat Drive at Tubbs Dog Wash in Somers Point (Through Nov. 30)
Tubbs Dog Wash is lending a hand this holiday season by collecting coat donations at their Somers Point location. All coats are being collected in support of the Somers Point schools and can be dropped off at 31 Mays Landing Road. While you’re there, make an appointment to get your pup spruced up for the holidays!
