The Ocean City Fire Department B Platoon had a recent visit this past week from the Brothers in Blue Motorcycle Club, NJ-Jersey Devil Chapter with a Freddie’s Teddies donation delivery.
The Brothers in Blue Motorcycle Club, an organization founded on a mission to assist and support first responders and their families, supports the Freddie’s Teddies program by delivering teddy bear donations to various entities, such as law enforcement agencies, fire departments and EMS rescue squads, to be provided to children receiving medical treatment or involved in an emergency situation. The teddy bears help to calm the children and provide a welcome distraction to the incident at hand. All donations are made in memory of Jennifer “Freddie” Meadows, who is at the heart of the Freddie’s Teddies initiative.
The Ocean City Fire Department will put the teddy bear donations to good use and use them when responding to emergencies throughout the island where children are involved and need a comforting toy to provide distraction to the situation at hand.
The donations are also made possible thanks to the extraordinary generosity and support of Millville PetSmart.
