Operation First Response will once again host its annual Walk for the Wounded event in Ocean City. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, September 28, and is an exceptional fundraising event to raise money for our wounded heroes.
This annual event is held every year on the Ocean City boardwalk to bring attention to the tens of thousands of soldiers returning home from service wounded and the resulting emotional and financial effects to these individuals and their family members. It’s also held to raise funds for these military heroes and help them with their medical bills and other financial obligations.
The three-mile walk will start at the Ocean City Music Pier and proceed to the end of the boardwalk at 23rd Street and then back to the Music Pier. Registration will unfold at 8:30 a.m. with the ceremony starting at 9:30 a.m. and the walk beginning at 10 a.m.
Guest speakers will include Lieutenant Colonel Shoshannah B. Lane and Susan Price, a Gold Star mother. Both speakers will share their heartfelt stories with the crowd prior to the walk.
Live music will be offered by The Big Zebowski from 8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
Registered participants who raise at least $50 for Operation First Response will receive a free long-sleeve t-shirt. Those who register may do so solo or recruit a team of friends, family members or co-workers to embark on the walk with them.
Online registration is now open for the 11th Annual Walk for the Wounded event and you can sign up for this extraordinary event to benefit our wounded heroes and their families.
Don’t miss this wonderful event on September 28 to honor and help our military heroes!
