Beef chili, vegetarian chili, mild chili or out-of-this-world spicy chili…however you like it, you are bound to find your ideal chili at this year’s Ocean City Chili Chowder Festival on September 28, 2019.
But, that’s not all that will be served up at this year’s festival on the Music Pier from noon–4 p.m. The other half of the festival includes robust and flavorful chowder offerings, from seafood to vegetable and other savory dishes.
An admission fee of $15 per adult and $5 per child enables you to enjoy all-you-can-eat samples of chili and chowder prepared by Ocean City Restaurant Association members. With each admission ticket, you’ll also grab a bottle of water to put out the fire from all of the zesty samplings.
On that topic, don’t miss another excellent part of the Ocean City Chili Chowder Festival which is the chili competition between Ocean City firefighters from the three firehouses on the island. Firefighters from the 5th Street headquarters, 29th Street station, and 45th Street station will engage in a little friendly cooking competition as each station competes to have their chili voted to be the best by Chili Chowder Fest attendees.
In addition to enjoying a day sampling chili and chowder and seeing who wins for the best firehouse chili in the Ocean City Fire Department Chili Cookoff, you’ll be helping the Ocean City Fire Department to raise money for the Ocean City Firefighters Foundation. The 501(c)(3) nonprofit raises money to contribute to many local organizations to help those in need.
Don’t miss this extraordinary culinary event where you can sample delicious chili and chowder and help the Ocean City Fire Department raise money for their foundation at the same time. Tickets are now available at the Ocean City Fire Department headquarters located at 550 Asbury Avenue and the 29th Street fire station at 2901 West Avenue.
