Must-Have Necessities for a Day at the Beach in Ocean City and Where to Find Them

As the weekend of high heat and humidity wraps up, we can now look forward to some more comfortable temperatures. This means it’s the perfect time to lounge on the beach and enjoy cool ocean breezes and welcoming warm sun. Some beachgoers have it down to a science when they make the trek from their house or hotel room to the beach. Others might find that they are unsure where to find all of their beach necessities. For the latter group, OCNJ Happenings has some helpful tips on where to go for all of your must-have beach products.

Beach Cart

For those individuals who are bringing their family to the beach and plan to spend the entire day lounging seaside, a beach cart is an excellent item to have. Whether you are walking a short block to the beach or have a few blocks worth of trekking to do, beach carts are a great way to make the journey an easy one. Island Beach Gear stocks up on beach carts and you can find the right size and style which suits your gear-toting needs.

Beach Towels, Chairs, and Toys

If you need to stock up on beach towels for drying off after a refreshing swim or want to find the perfect beach chair in which to lounge, Hoy’s 5 & 10 is a great place to visit. With two locations in Ocean City, one at 732 Asbury Avenue and the other location at 34th Street and West Avenue, you’ll find plenty of options at this beach shop. Hoy’s 5 & 10 offers towels and chairs in a variety of styles, perfect for all members of the family. For the kids of the family, Hoy’s is also your go-to spot for beach toys and all of your sandcastle-building tools.

Swimsuits and Sandals

If you are due for a new swimsuit or forgot to pack one in your suitcase, there are plenty of options for swimsuit and sandal shopping in Ocean City. Some of the spots where you’ll find a wide selection of beach attire include SunSmiles Sandals and Beachwear, Marty’s, and B & B.

Beach Lunch

Some beachgoers like to pack their own lunch while others who sit close to the boardwalk find their lunch options at one of the many boardwalk eateries. If you’re interested in having lunch from Blitz’s but didn’t grab your hoagie before hitting the beach, don’t worry, as Beach Bucket Lunch will deliver your lunch to you. Delivered in the perfect beach-themed bucket, you’ll choose a sandwich, hoagie, or salad and have your choice accompanied by a drink, chips, and Tastykake treat. Best of all, you don’t even have to leave the beach to grab lunch!

Once you have all of these beach necessities checked off the list, you are ready to get started with your day of sun and fun in Ocean City!
